Creating & Managing Projects
Projects & Organization
Updated Apr 2, 2026
Projects are the top-level containers for your checks. They help you group related services together and see aggregated status at a glance.
Creating a project
- Click + New Project in the sidebar, or go to Manage Projects → Create.
- Enter a name (2–255 characters). A URL-friendly slug is generated automatically.
- Click Create.
Sections
Within a project you can create sections — sub-groups that provide a second level of organisation. For example, a "Production" project might have sections for "API Servers", "Databases" and "CDN".
- Sections are one level deep (no nesting sections inside sections).
- You can create sections inline while organising checks.
- Drag and drop to reorder sections and move checks between them.
Editing & renaming
Click the project name in the header of the project view, or go to Edit. The slug updates automatically when you rename.
Deleting a project
Deleting a project removes all its sections and all checks within them. This action cannot be undone. Historical data in InfluxDB is also purged.
Aggregated metrics
The project view shows:
- Worst status across all checks (the banner colour).
- Average response time across all HTTP/Port checks.
- Total checks and how many are up, down, degraded or unknown.
